There is No Wrong Way, Just Simply a Way

To the moms celebrating their child's birthday from earth while their baby celebrates from Heaven.

.

.

The mother aimlessly walking up and down the toy aisles, imagining what the birthday wishlist would hold. Running her hand over party invitations, choosing the perfect one in her mind.

.

.

The mom who cannot get out of bed on this day, shower or respond to the "thinking of you" messages flooding her phone.

.

.

The mothers who feel they must continue to celebrate each birthday almost as if their child were still here.

.

.

The momma who elaborately decorates the headstone with a beautiful spray of flowers and personal trinkets. Afterwards lying on the ground, far above a casket buried deep in the earth. Needing to be as physically close to them as possible.

.

.

The mom who cannot bring herself to visit the cemetery and face her last memories there, especially on this day.

.

.

The one who lets the tears fall as she gives into the gut wrenching cries, finally allowing them to be heard.

.

.

The mom who tries her best to put on a smile and remember the beautiful moments from the day that once held the joy of the world.

.

.

The mothers wishing this was not the hand they were dealt. Knowing in their hearts this isn’t how it was supposed to be. Questioning why for the millionth time.

.

.

The ones who pray they could fast forward time and skip it all together.

.

.

The mom now forced to blow out the candles on her child's cake.

.

.

This day is yours.

Be mindful of what your heart needs.

There is no wrong way, just simply a way.
